1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using PoliWriter ("the Service"), operated by PoliWriter ("we," "our," or "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these terms.

2. Description of Service

PoliWriter is an AI-powered compliance documentation platform that generates, manages, and exports compliance policies and documents for frameworks including SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, and others. The Service includes document generation, editing, export, integration monitoring, evidence collection, and audit readiness tools.

3. Accounts

  • You must provide accurate and complete registration information.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account.
  • One account per individual. Company accounts may have multiple authorized users under Enterprise plans.

4. Subscriptions and Payment

  • Access to certain features requires a paid subscription (Starter, Pro, or Enterprise).
  • Payments are processed by DodoPayments. You agree to their terms of service for payment processing.
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date.
  • All fees are non-refundable except as provided under our 30-day money-back guarantee for first-time subscribers.
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to active subscribers.

5. AI-Generated Content

  • Ownership: You own the compliance documents generated by the Service using your company data. We retain no ownership rights over your generated content.
  • No Legal Advice: AI-generated documents are starting points for compliance programs, not legal advice. You are responsible for reviewing, customizing, and validating all generated content with qualified legal and compliance professionals.
  • No Guarantee of Compliance: While our documents are designed by compliance experts and aligned with framework requirements, we do not guarantee that using our documents will result in passing an audit or achieving certification. Compliance depends on your organization's actual implementation of controls.
  • Accuracy: AI-generated content may contain errors or omissions. You must review all documents before relying on them.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
  • Share your account credentials with unauthorized individuals.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the AI models or proprietary algorithms.
  • Scrape, crawl, or automatically extract content from the Service beyond normal use.
  • Use generated documents to misrepresent your organization's compliance status.
  • Resell or redistribute generated documents as a competing service.
  • Upload malicious content or attempt to compromise the Service's security.

7. Integration Credentials

If you connect third-party services (AWS, GitHub, Okta, etc.), you grant us permission to access those services on your behalf solely for compliance monitoring and evidence collection. Your credentials are encrypted at rest and used only for scheduled compliance scans. You may disconnect integrations at any time.

8. Intellectual Property

  • The Service, including its design, features, code, and branding, is owned by PoliWriter and protected by intellectual property laws.
  • Policy templates, section structures, and AI prompts are our proprietary content.
  • Your company data and generated documents remain your property.
  • Free resources (guides, checklists, tools) are provided for informational purposes and may not be reproduced commercially without permission.

9. Data and Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of data as described therein.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PoliWriter shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PoliWriter and its officers, directors, and employees from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

13. Termination

  • You may cancel your account at any time from the Settings page or by contacting us.
  • We may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these terms with reasonable notice.
  • Upon termination, your access to the Service will cease. You may export your documents before cancellation.
  • Sections 5, 8, 10, 11, 12, and 15 survive termination.

14. Changes to Terms

We may modify these terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

15. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts located in New Delhi, India.
